My dad played Tracy Chapman a lot during my childhood and I’m so grateful for that (you can read my piece on some more of his car mixtapes). So it was a pleasant surprise to see Tracy Chapman had performed one of her signature tunes on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’.
“Talkin’ ‘Bout A Revolution” is an appropriate tune for 2020 but the most remarkable thing about her performance was how she sounded—and looked—near identical to her 1988 self. Black don’t crack and all that. Soul-enriching stuff.
