Times have moved on from the exclusivity of a hardware drum machine as a form of hip hop technology. There are a bunch of apps on the market now, some of which we have featured here including the DM1 and Akai’s iMPC. Not to see herself fall behind the times (because that’s just not her style), 90s legend Bahamadia used her app to construct a simple beat from the ground up – kick, snare, hi-hat, synth and, last but not least, vocals. There was even some basic mixing involved. For a straightforward beat made in a car, this is pretty dope.
