WhoSampled will hold the world’s first “Samplethon” in Brighton on 10th May for twenty lucky producers.

It’s every beatmaker’s dream to have access to rare samples and be able to use them without the impending doom of a lawsuit and that’s precisely what’s on offer at WhoSampled’s first ever “Samplethon”. The event will give a special opportunity for twenty producers to use sample material from Boosey & Hawkes and Cavendish’s music catalogues in order to make a track against the clock. But help will be at hand for the lucky few as a team of world class producers will supervise the whole thing. A panel of expert judges will then choose the winning tracks and they’ll be put forward for a forthcoming release as part of the Cavendish music library.

So do you think you have what it takes? To enter and win prizes along the way, simply email samplethon@whosampled.com with the following information:

  • Your name, age, location and alias/stage name
  • Links to your music (Soundcloud, Bandcamp etc. but no downloads)
  • One sentence explaining why you want to take part in the Samplethon
  • Links to any of your social media accounts, sites or blogs you deem relevant

You must be available to attend the event on May 10th in Brighton, UK and you can find further details in the coming weeks on WhoSampled’s blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Good luck!
