West coast hip hop reigns supreme once more thanks to Long Beach resident Ahwlee. Fusing smooth vocal chops with bumping yet mellow beats, he’s put together a really dope beat mix called V A L L E Y S, featuring vocals from tracks by Slum Village, Elzhi, Kanye West and a slew of R&B jams.
Ahwlee describes his music as “easy listening” and I get it, even if I’m now thinking of Herb Alpert which isn’t quite the same vibe in this context.
